New to our pubs; superb Ashridge Cider from Devon
Real Cider 6.0%
1 pint=3.5 units
Superbly balanced, on the drier side of medium with a very fresh, clean taste of refined character.
We chose this cider after being bowled over by it’s innate quality. All four stockists agreed we hadn’t tasted better!
Available permanently on handpull at these Dawkins public houses:
Ashridge bottles
Also look out for a range of excellent bottled ciders and soft drinks in the chillers
Fizzy cider in 2013
Lovers of sparkling cider can look forward to the Ashridge 4.5% medium-dry on tap from Spring 2013, at the same four pubs above. We’ll be amongst the first stockists of this new product.
About the cidermakers
Ashridge made their name with their much-lauded Sparkling Vintage Cider, made using the traditional method, or “méthode champenoise” (as of Champagne).
All fruit is hand picked from South Devon orchards. Ashridge regularly win awards at the main cider competitions held every year.
Owner Jason Mitchell’s own orchards in Staverton, near Totnes, Devon are certified organic and contain trees up to 60 years old.
The apples are left til fully ripe for flavour, unlike large commercial makers.
This is very much a craft cidermaker.
